Mill Valley Photo Art is located in Upstate New York in the rural village of Middleburgh in the beautiful and historic Schoharie Valley.  The territory was settled by German Palatines and Dutch pioneers during the colonial period in the early 1700’s, who purchased the land from the resident Native Americans.  This fertile valley has harbored farming communities for more than 275 years.  Its bountiful harvests, much of which were sent to Washington’s army, earned the locale the title, “Breadbasket of the Revolution”. The area was the scene of many battles in the Revolutionary war.  Middleburgh’s name was actually derived from the fact that it was the “Middle” fort between the Schoharie and Fultonham forts.  Residents of the valley still find bits and pieces of the era in the form of arrow heads, musket balls, broken clay pipes and bowls and coins as they work in their gardens.   Red tail hawks, bald eagles and turkey buzzards soar on the mountain’s updrafts and beaver, deer, bear and other wildlife abound in this region.  Along with scenic landscapes and vistas, there are many ponds, woodlands and trails in the vicinity to hike and explore.  It is a wonderful place to experience the outdoors and one of the most beautiful regions in our country.  It is also a great place to photograph!  Travel through our website as we share with you in pictures, the beauty of Upstate New York and other places we have visited.  We hope you enjoy the trip!  Mark & Judi Beeler
